Summer might be over but September is another big month for truck drivers.
September 9, 2018:
The annual St. Jude’s Truck Driver Charity Challenge will take place in Devens, MA. The Charity Challenge is a driving skills competition and fundraiser. All of the proceeds go to benefit the children and research at St. Jude’s Hospital. We are proud to announce that HDL will have 3 drivers competing in the challenge this year. We wish the best of luck to them and all of the drivers competing!
September 9-15, 2018:
National Truck Driver Appreciation week will be held. This is the time when the country unites to honor all truck drivers across America for their hard work and dedication to one of the toughest jobs on the market. Thank you to all of the professional truck drivers out there!
September 16-22, 2018:
Brake Safety Week is scheduled to take place. Inspectors will be conducting a full Level 1 inspection, which is the most comprehensive inspection. During Brake Safety Day in April, 14% of vehicles inspected were put out of service. During last year’s International Roadcheck, brake related violations were the number one reason vehicles were put out of service. Law enforcement aim to lower the number of crashes caused by poorly maintained brake systems by removing dangerous vehicles from our roadways.
